Two sisters are returning to their native Bexley this weekend to discuss an adventure that started on a corner in Leningrad in 1976 and has turned into a book exploring the friendship that sustained two Jewish women in the former Soviet Union. Leslie Levine Adler and Meryll Levine Page, who now live in the Minneapolis area, will discuss Jewish Luck at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Bexley Public Library.

Leslie and Meryll return to home territory as they speak at the Bexley Public Library about their new nonfiction book of strong women in contemporary Russia -- Jewish Luck: A True Story of Friendship, Deception and Risky Business. Bexley Public Library was a magical retreat offering a world of adventure and the two Levine sisters are proud to add a book to the shelves. Meryll and Leslie will speak about two women's struggle to claim personal freedom in a country which undermines them. Leslie and Meryll will participate in Subtext Bookstore's Local Author Sunday on March 2 at 4:00 pm. Subtext is an independent bookstore in the Selby-Dale neighborhood of St. Paul. Off street parking is available. Come at 3:30 pm and hear Shirley Pearl speak about her book, The Occasional Man. Shirley and Meryll are both members of OLLI's Memoir Writing Group. Leslie and Meryll will read a short section from Jewish Luck and describe how we Minnesota sisters became the memoirists for two Leningrad women.
