Thanks to our wonderful hosts in San Diego – Dr. Roy and Lesley Davis and Simone Abelsohn for kicking off the first Jewish Luck book party. The table would have been a Russian’s dream feast. Many South African émigrés were present and the book spoke to our common Eastern European heritage as well as the upheaval of immigration.

We moved on to the home of Laurie Goodman and Don Spetner in Los Angeles filled this time with friends including many Israelis. Laurie promised we would begin with vodka and laid out a beautiful table of zakuski (appetizers). Readings and a lively discussion followed.

The table laden with zakuski:

Our story is about the value of connection. Thanks to our hosts and guests for sharing stories.
